Yesterday we introduced the new Giorgio Armani collection at this website. Of course he is not the only one who reintroduces some styles and apparently feels the time is right for some nostalgia. No one less as Larry Leight of Oliver Peoples had the same idea at the same time and introduces a limited edition of styles like the OP-505 from the original debut collection of the legendary brand from Los Angeles originating in 1987. It is accompanied by the 1955, originally designed in 1988 and the O’Malley which become famous as the frame worn by Christian Bale in the movie American Psycho in which this prescription frame was part of the established uniform of the bankers just like a Hermès tie and a pair of Gucci loafers. The frame was named after Peter O’Malley, the former owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers who always wore this kind of eyeglasses. All of these frames have a history and great stories to tell which makes this retro trend even more interesting and exciting as it already is.
