The last years we did not hear or see a lot of the French company l’Amy in the Netherlands. One or another brand could draw some attention but most of the time disappeared as fast as it came. This could change now that the French accessory specialist TWC took over l’Amy to complete its range of accessories like watches, bags and jewelry. TWC for example owns the licenses for the Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger watches. The two French companies cooperated already for some time and expect to attract more interesting licenses now. In addition both distribution networks could endorse each other especially while sunglasses are more and more sold in non-optical outlets such as department stores. The question is whether the small Dutch market will be interesting enough for TWC that probably prefers to focus on North America where l’Amy already has a certain presence and growth is a real option.
