Thom Browne and Phillip Lim were the major stars at the presentation of the CFDA Awards, last Monday. These Awards can be compared to the Oscars for the movies industry. Thom Browne got the Award as Best Menswear Designer and Phillip Lim was honoured as Best Accessories Designer. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler went home as the Best Womenswear Designers. The Awards confirm the importance of these rising stars in the international fashion world. Both Thom Browne and Phillip Lim have a great collection of eyewear. Those of Phillip Lim come from MODO New York and are, like all his other designs, different and eyecatching but at the same time very wearable. Both designers represent a new and modern generation and appeal to a hardworking, busy, social very active and fashion aware target group. These are the designers who, together with some others, will shape fashion in the near future and smart opticians worldwide give them room in their stores now and join them on their ways to success.
