Nobody who ever reads a newspaper, sees a magazine or looks around while on the street, could have missed it. The Australian actress Cate Blanchett is hot. She plays the major part in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine and is considered to win an Oscar for that role. Giorgio Armani asked her for the campaign for his new parfum Si which stars in all glossy magazines worldwide now. Last week it became known that she will direct the American version of the film based on the bestseller The Dinner by Dutch author Herman Koch and maybe play a role in it as well. In short, Cate Blanchett is riding high and right now Silhouette launches a great eyewear campaign with her, photographed by Peter Lindbergh. Nevertheless, I don’t see a lot of Cate at Dutch optical stores yet. Silhouette invests a whole lot of money and this is the ultimate moment to profit. Talk about it with your employees, tell it to your clients, create a great shop window referring to the movie to draw extra attention, write something for your local newspaper and distinct yourself with a beautiful campaign and a great product. Story telling as it should be…
