The Ride for the Roses has once been initiated by Lance Armstrong and today is a worldwide phenomenon. The 15th Dutch edition will take place on Saturday September 9th. With 12.000 riders we are talking about the largest peloton on earth! Location of this Dutch edition is the Westland area, also the homeland of optician Linneweever who has participated in many editions already. This year Team Linneweever exists of 35 people. The contribution of the teams as well as all of the sponsor contributions will be donated to the Dutch Queen Wilhelmina Foundation and used to support the fight against cancer. Team Linneweever already collected more as 4.000 euro from sponsors but more is still welcome. One day earlier some sporty Dutch opticians including Diederik van der Heijden of Van Wely Optiek at Roosendaal, will climb the Mont Ventoux in France for A Ride for Hope. A real challenge for all the participants who do this to collect money to fight against brain tumor. Diederik as well can still be sponsored and both are happy with small amounts as many small ones result in one major one. It is easy to do. Click here and donate for Team Linneweever and here to donate for Diederik. Just do it now!
