The management of Specsavers has offered its apologies to the optician who saw a Specsavers promotion employee appearing in his store last week. The NUVO has not reacted officially yet but did talk informally to some alarmed independent opticians who consider simple apologies not enough in this case. They expect guarantees of the chain that it will stop its aggressive promotions and/or advertisements which violate other opticians and expect the NUVO to at least condemn this way of acting or warn Specsavers officially in order to be able to sanction the company immediately in case of next incidents. The Specsavers promotion was even more remarkable as the company’s suspension of the NUVO was only concluded a few weeks ago.
