HOYA closed the second quarter of its financial year which ended September 30, with an increase in sales of 18,6% compared to the same period last year. Net profit increased with even 114%. The Life Care division to which the eyeglass lenses belong, did very well with an increase in sales of more than 20%. The good results are partly due to the acquisition of Seiko Optical Products as well as to growth in overseas markets.
