In order to realize the necessary savings on government expenses, the Dutch will probably eliminate the current compensation for everyone who needs hearing aids. This decision will probably lead to an increasing demand for hearing aids this year. From 2013 insurance companies will offer extra packages including hearing aids the way they do now for prescription frames and contactlenses. This will certainly lead to more competition in the market and new aggressive price agreements of chains with insurance companies. Quite interesting developments for all people involved in this business.
No compensation for hearing aids anymore
