The New-York based company MODO with its ECO, Born Recycled collection, already proved to be aware of the environment and ecological developments and showed that it wants to make a contribution to a more sustainable world. However, this is not enough for Allessandro Lanaro, the owner and ceo of the company. During the MIDO the company announced another contribution to a better world. As from March 1, for every frame sold to its clients-opticians worldwide, it will donate a frame to somebody in a third world country who thanks to this gift will probably be able to go to school, learn or simply participate in the local community. The program has been developed with major organisations like Unicef to guarantee that each frame will find a proper destination. For the final consumer at the optician it might be nice to know that the purchase of the new frame makes someone at the other side of the world happy. Nice to see how a trendy New-York company at the same time shows its social awareness. Great challenge for opticians to do the same and distinguish themselves with this collection.
