After a good first quarter of this year, Luxottica reports excellent results for the second quarter as well. Sales increased to a total of 1.633,5 million euro. That means an increase of 9,5% at constant exchange rates and of 2,4% at current exchange rates compared to the same period last year. Net income increased with 8% to 162,1 million euro. The wholesale division contributed most to the good results. The stores did well but suffered from the depreciation of the dollar which is bad for Luxottica as it reports in euro’s.
