Last week, Leonardo del Vecchio, founder and majority shareholder of Luxottica, sold 18 million of his shares in the optical giant. This was less as aimed. Nevertheless, he earned 486 million euro cash with the deal. Leonardo del Vecchio still owns a little bit more as 62% of the company. Designer Giorgio Armani owns 5% and the rest of the shares are traded at the stock exchange. In a comment CEO Andrea Guerra told Reuters, Luxottica is still on track and results in July and August confirm the positive trend of the first half of the year.
