Essilor reports positive half year 2012 figures. Sales increased with 22,8% to 2,53 billion euro. Profit rose with 22,1% to 453,9 million euro. These increases are the result of a worldwide growth of Essilor’s marketshare and the successful introduction of Crizal UV Forte. The consolidation of purchased companies as well contributed to the results. Europe showed a limited increase in sales of only 4%. Essilor confirms it’s target of an increase in sales of 12 to 15% for 2012. The introduction of the new generation of progressive lenses called Varilux S should be one of the motors for a further growth in the second half of the year.
