Luxottica closed the year 2011 with a record breaking sales of more as 6,2 billion euro. The fourth quarter confirmed the trend with an increase in sales of more as 12% compared to the same period in 2010. Stores performed much better after a weaker period and contribute seriously to the growth. Ray-Ban and Oakley remain the driving forces of the wholesale division but luxury brands such as Chanel, Persol and Tiffany contributed as well to the increase in sales. For 2012 Luxottica expects further growth, especially in emerging markets and based on earlier investments in efficiency.
