Last weekend Italia Independent founder Lapo Elkann was in Amsterdam for the MTV EMA. The flamboyant Italian is always good for some interesting quotes and used the opportunity for a few interviews with leading newspapers and magazines. The first was published yesterday in De Financiële Telegraaf. Great publicity for the optical industry as it once again shows that it is fully alive, innovating and renewing. Italia Independent is certainly a good example but there are of course many other innovative products which could and should be used by independent opticians to distinct themselves from the competition. Not only by selling them but most of all by communicating with all those new and exciting products. That can be done instore but certainly online as well trough social media and websites and of course still by using printed media. From exclusive wooden and stone frames by Rolf to affordable luxury by Italia Independent, from the newest (contact)lenses to high-tech instruments. More as enough to surprise every single client.
