Last Monday the first HOYA Ladies Night took place at Doorn in the Netherlands. Top entrepreneur Annemarie van Gaal who made her career and fortune as a publisher in Moscow, shared her vision with female opticians during a dinner in the cosy Oranjerie of Huis Doorn. The evening resulted in many interesting discussions. Women are very present in the optical branch but few of them have leading positions or own stores. Even more interesting to know that last week a Dutch female optician was awarded with the ING Retail Award. Probably this initiative of HOYA will inspire more women in the optical industry to develop their careers and strive for important positions or even own stores.
