For the third year in a row October is Vision Month at all independent opticians in the Netherlands. At the end of last month the popular ladies magazine Nouveau already published a Vision Month Eyecare and Eye Fashion special and this same special edition will also be added to another famous Dutch magazine called Margriet this week. In addition all independent opticians received 100 copies. Total circulation of this special magazine was 450.000 copies with which the independent opticians reach more as one million women of 40 years and older. But the men are not forgotten. This Saturday the largest newspaper of the country launches an Esquire Styleguide with a circulation of 660.000 copies. As a tribute to the Vision Month this guide for modern fashion aware men pays much more attention to eyewear and optics as usual. Of course this Vision Month will be endorsed by a national print campaign and last but not least all independent opticians received stickers, pressreleases and logo’s for local use. Indeed, the Dutch independent opticians are alive and kicking!
