It might be called a “public secret” that Alain Mikli wasn’t always the easiest company for Dutch opticians to deal with. Sometimes it looked like the French manufacturer skimped it’s work a little bit too much. This will definitely change now. Two of the Dutch most dedicated Mikli fans Martin van Warmerdam and Hans Zwijsen recently founded Alain Mikli Netherlands and will become responsible for sales, promotion and aftersales of the Mikli and Philippe Starck collections in the Netherlands. They will be assisted by their team consisting of Willemijn Oosterbaan, Sofie Sipido and Hanneke Domen. The new company will be launched on September 12th with a party at “Buitenplaats Amerongen” in the heart of the country. At that occasion Alain Mikli Netherlands will already show the new SILMO styles in a kind of avant-première. The Dutch contribution combined with the new élan of the Mikli organization in France which recently changed management, should soon reposition the Mikli collections where they belong: at the top shelves of the best Dutch opticians. Hans Zwijsen and Martin van Warmerdam have no doubts. There mission is clear and they can’t wait to start.
