Fashion brand IKKS has signed a license agreement for the design, production and distribution of a sunglasses and prescription frames collection with French company Grasset Associés. The eyewear company will introduce collections for men, women and childrenat the MIDO in Milan. IKKS and Grasset are both French which partly explains this collaboration. Apparently both companies belief there is still enough room for fashion brands in the optical business. That room might be there but only when designers are able to create some added value. We see too many me too products and a brand name is certainly no guarantee for success anymore. Nevertheless, for IKKS these (sun)glasses collections are a nice addition to its existing product range.
