Designer Joop Tolboom got inspired by his local IKEA store and created a concept for an optical shop, almost completely furnished with items from IKEA and other comparable stores. The result is surprising and inspiring. Even more because the designer combined actual developments like 3D technology, RFID technology and screens with basic elements like pallets and didn’t forget to make room for a juice bar and coffee corner. In short, Joop Tolboom gives us an impression of a new type of future optical store with less investments in expensive furniture and luxurious presentation systems but with a lot of modern technology which contributes to a real shopping “experience”.
