Despite the loss of the Armani license, Safilo succeeded in keeping its sales on almost the same level as last year. In the first half of 2013 the decrease compared to the same period in 2012 was only 2,4%. Sales totaled almost 600 million euro and net profit a little more as 20 million. In this first half of 2013 debts were reduced with 30 million and remained 200 million by July 31. Recently the company signed a few new licenses like those with Fendi and Bobbi Brown and a contract with Essilor which will start selling lenses with the Polaroid brand name. A few other important licenses have been renewed.
