Last week the President of the L’Association du SILMO at Paris, Guy Charlot, passed away at the age of eighty-four. The last years he shared his responsibilities with Philippe Lafont who, as the “exhibition director” took care of the fair itself. Guy Charlot represented the eyewear industry and that of France in particular at many occasions. Those who knew him will remember him as a colorful and passionate man who, despite his age, remained involved in all developments regarding his organization.
